There are two ways to send notifications to your clients, either by email or by SMS.

In terms of SMS notification, Mambu supports full integration with both Twilio and Infobip as SMS gateways. This allows you to create an account with either of them and start sending manual and automated SMS messages to your clients.

Please Note
Both Infobip and Twilio (through their SendGrid product) offer additional STMP services for sending emails, so if you don't already have your own email solution, it might make sense to also talk with both gateways about these features before making any decision.
Please Note
Are you looking to integrate with another service gateway? Please contact us through Mambu Support.

Creating an SMS gateway account

The first step to setting up SMS notifications in Mambu is to create an account with an SMS gateway.

The two SMS gateways we currently support are Twilio and Infobip.

Visit the website of the SMS gateway you would like to use and follow the instructions on their website to set up an account.

During the account setup process you will receive both a verification email to the email used to set up the account as well as a verification code to the phone number used to set up the account. Therefore make sure you have access to both.

In order to complete the following steps you will need administrator privileges.

After registering with one of the SMS gateways, you will need to enter your credentials in Mambu before you're ready to start sending SMS messages.

To setup your SMS gateway in Mambu:

  1. On the main menu, go to Administration > SMS > Settings.
  2. Using the SMS Gateway dropdown, select the SMS gateway you want to use.
  3. Enter all the necessary information. See below for more information on the form fields.
  4. Select Save Changes.

The SMS service is now activated and you can start sending messages to your clients. We recommend running campaigns internally using a sandbox to test the functionality before going live.
