A card token is a unique string of symbols that replaces a payment card number, with options to partially or fully replace the number. Each token is linked to one account, but an account can have multiple tokens. Tokens can be registered for loan or deposit accounts using the API. They do not have a status or expiration date. Tokens can be viewed and removed from accounts.
A card token is a string of symbols that replaces a payment card number and is used to uniquely identify a payment card.
A card token can:
- partially replace a card number, keeping the Bank Identification Number (BIN) and the last four digits
- fully replace a card number and have the same length as a card number
- fully replace a card and have a different length than a card number
Card tokens cannot exceed 72 characters.
One card token can be linked to only one account. However, one account can have multiple tokens linked to it. Using the API, you can register card tokens for loan or deposit accounts. For more information, see Deposits Account - Create Card or Loan Account - Create Card.
For security reasons, we highly recommend you do not use a real card number as a card token!
You can see all card tokens that have been registered for a loan or deposit account. You can also remove a card token that has been registered on a deposit or a loan account.
You can't delete a token associated to a card that has already been used.
Currently, card tokens don't have a status or expiration date.
