SMS Gateway Setup

You may set up an SMS gateway to send manual or automatic SMS notifications to your individual clients, groups, or credit officers.

Mambu supports full integration with Twilio and Infobip as SMS gateways. If you would like to integrate with another SMS gateway, please contact us through Mambu Support.

To set up an SMS gateway, you must be an admin. For more information, see Creating a User - Type.

Creating an SMS gateway account

The first step is to create an account with an SMS gateway.

The two SMS gateways we support are Twilio and Infobip. Visit the website of the SMS gateway you would like to use and follow the instructions on their website to set up an account.

After registering with a supported SMS gateway, set it up in Mambu.

To setup your SMS gateway in Mambu:

  1. On the main menu, go to Administration > SMS > Settings. The Settings tab is only visible to admins.
  2. Using the SMS Gateway dropdown, select the SMS gateway you want to use.
  3. Enter all the necessary information. See below for more information on the form fields.
  4. Select Save Changes.

After you set up your SMS gateway, a Notifications tab will appear next to the Settings tab under Administration > SMS.

The SMS gateway is now activated and you can start sending messages to your individual clients, groups, or credit officers. We recommend running campaigns internally using a sandbox to test the functionality before going live.

Form fields for Infobip

Name Description Required
Base URL To see your base URL, log in to the Infobip API Resource hub with your Infobip credentials. Once logged in, on all pages you should see your base URL in this format: Yes
Account Username The Account SID is a 34 character account identifier starting with AC. Received during Infobip account creation. Yes
Account Password The 32-character Auth Token you receive this when creating your Infobip account. Yes
Phone Number The phone number you provided to Infobip during account setup. Yes
