Article Summary

To use SEPA Instant, there are a few configuration options that need to be defined in the Mambu Payment Gateway. Generally, these are the same settings that need to be defined for any SEPA compliant payment method.

System Properties

Basic configuration

  • Bank BIC: Enter the Bank Identifier Code (BIC) for your banking institution. This value is usually the BIC of the main branch, and is eight characters long
  • ACH BIC: Enter the BIC for your clearing and settlement mechanism (CSM)
  • ACH Clearing System: Enter the code for your CSM, which will be included in generated SEPA messages such as transaction success acknowledgements and rejections
  • AML BIC Sender and AML BIC Receiver: If you are using a service to fulfil Anti Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements, the BIC of your provider should be entered in these fields

Extra system properties

  • SEPA Instant timeout in seconds: Enter a value greater than 1 to define when the system will automatically generate and send a rejection message for incoming instant payments that take longer than this value to process. There is no upper limit to this option, although we recommend not going above 20 seconds to stay within the spirit of the SCT Inst scheme.

AML configuration

  • AML Instant Credit Transfer Incoming Enabled: When enabled, this option will forward incoming payments to your defined AML service provider who will perform checks against the parties to the transaction. Depending on the response, the payment may be held or stopped. For more information, see AML & Suspense Accounts in our User Guide.

Schedulers configuration

For SEPA Instant Credit Transfers there is no need to set up a scheduler, payments will be automatically processed in real time.
