Alongside automated notifications, Mambu allows you to send emails and text messages that you create manually. These can be written either completely by hand or based on previously created templates and edited before sending them out.

All messages sent in this way will be tracked in Mambu and accessible from the notification history of the client to whom it was sent. Manual notifications can only be sent to Individual Clients and Members of Groups, not to other internal users.

Creating Manual Notification Templates

To create manual notification templates:

  1. Navigate to Administration > Templates
  2. Select the type of template you would like to create (SMS or Email)
  3. Create your template (read our article on creating templates for more information)
  4. Save

Sending Manual Emails and Text Messages

From a client detail page simply select Send in the top right menu and select either Send SMS or Send Email to open the Send Message dialog. You can start writing straight away or select from a template that has been previously created. When creating manual notifications you will not be able to use placeholders, however, any template you select which uses placeholders will be automatically populated with data when loaded, which can greatly speed up your workflow.

Emails written by hand from the Send Email dialog can only be created as rich text - it is not possible to edit the HTML directly - so if your company has a particular corporate identity that you would like to be maintained in such messages, it might make sense to create a simple, blank template that coworkers can use which includes nothing more than your styling information and CSS as well as necessary footers.

For sending notifications based on templates where a deposit or loan account is the target, simply select the account and click Send in the account menu bar and select your preferred communication channel.
